Microblading Vs Eyebrow Tattooing, here are 5 main differences

At Fine Strokes Microblading, sometimes we hear people refer to microblading as eyebrow tattooing, which is technically accurate but not 100% correct.

eyebrow microblading michiganIn essence, microblading is an eyebrow tattoo but is not like an eyebrow tattoo. Microblading is a “cosmetic tattoo.

Here are the main differences between microblading/cosmetic tattoo and old fashion eyebrow tattooing:

1. Color retention.
Because of the delicacy used by our skilled artists, microblading fades entirely after three years and may last anywhere between 1-3 years. With the microblading procedure, there is less ink placed under the skin.

2. Microblading pigments sustain their color.
Microblading doesn’t use regular tattoo ink. We use a specially formulated pigment that maintains its original tone over time. We see many eyebrow tattoo clients where their eyebrows turn blue or red over time because the tattoo artist has used metal based inks on them. Color retention makes Microblading superior old fashion eyebrow tattooing.

3. Microblading is virtually painless.
Our artists use maximum strength topical anesthetic, which numbs the procedure area making it very comfortable for our clients. Don’t’ let the word Needle scare you, comfort for our clients is at our core.

4. Microblading looks natural, unlike the old traditional eyebrow tattoos.
Your Microblading artist hand draws each line to mimic your natural eyebrow hair strokes. Eyebrow tattooing uses a machine and is all one solid full bold color. During the microblading procedure, each hair stroke is hand drawn one by one to create the full shape of your new eyebrow. Many times, even the clients themselves cannot distinguish their eyebrow hair from the ones drawn by our artist.

5. Microblading artist and Tattoo artist are different species.
Tattoo artist and Microblading artists may learn the same fundamental skin and pathogen principles, however, that’s the only thing in common. The is very vigorous. It’s about 80% science and research-based. Our microblading artists practice their technique over six months vigorously before starting to accept clients.
