What is Lip Blushing?

Lip blushing is a cosmetic tattooing procedure that subtly enhances the color and shape of your natural lips.

Unlike traditional lip tattoos, lip blushing focuses on a more natural, soft look akin to the subtle tint of a lip stain. This technique allows us to customize the perfect shade that complements your natural lip color and skin tone.

You'll Love Your Lip Tattoo Process

The Design:

We draw the lip liner out first, giving you a full picture of your new lips and where we will be depositing pigment. Our specialty is “Natural Look”. That’s why our clients choose Fine Strokes Microblading for their permanent makeup procedures in Michigan.

The Color:

The artist will discuss the color options and which are best for your skin complexion and natural features. If you prefer to bring in your favorite lipstick as a reference point, please do so.

The Pigmentation:

We use microneedles specifically designed for micropigmentation procedures. These needles are designed to gently insert pigment into the dermal layers of the skin while drastically reducing irritation of the skin.

The first session is always about building the lip and carefully depositing enough pigment, but not too much. Think of it as getting the base for the perfect procedure.

The Touch-UP:

Ideally performed 4 to 6 weeks after the initial procedure. During this session, we will carefully review your healed results and see if there’s any need for color correction or shape adjustment.

Day 1

Post-Procedure Right after the procedure, lips generally appear very bright and slightly swollen. The color is more intense than the final result.

Some tingling, tightness, or minor discomfort may be present.

No Shelfish, No Kissing, Rubbing or Picking

Apply Ointment as needed throughout the day. Keep them moist at all times.

Day 2-3

Intensified Color and Swelling Swelling may continue, and the color of the lips often appears darker and more intense.

Your lips may start feeling a bit dry and tight, as the healing process begins.

Days 4-5

Pealing Begins The outer layer of skin may begin to flake or peel. It's important not to pick or scratch the lips as this can affect the healing and color outcome.

The color under the peeling skin may seem very light compared to the flaking skin. (Color will soften in about 2 weeks)

Days 6-7

Peeling Continues Peeling typically continues, and the color may still appear lighter than expected under the peeling areas.

The lips start to feel more comfortable and less tight.

Days 8-10

True Color Emerges By this stage, peeling usually finishes, revealing a softer and more natural color.

Swelling has subsided and the lips begin to look and feel more natural.

Days 11-14

Healing CompletesThe lips should be mostly healed with the true color and intensity visible. (Color might still be a little light)

The lips regain their normal texture, with the final results of the lip blush now evident.

Dasy 15-30

Full Healing and Color Settling Over the next few weeks, the color will settle and fully integrate with the natural lip color.

A follow-up appointment may be scheduled to touch up and adjust the color or shape if necessary.

To achieve the best results, aftercare is paramount. We provide detailed aftercare instructions, including keeping the lips moisturized and avoiding direct sunlight. The healing process typically takes around a week, during which the lips may feel slightly dry and flaky.
